    The YBMAPP is a revolutionary new business directory mobile app designed specifically to support the growth of Black-owned businesses, sole traders, and freelancers. We provide a unique platform to advertise and market UK based Black owned businesses to the general public inclusive of all demographics including race, religion, or culture. What sets us apart is the level of customisation we offer. Businesses that we list are not just details on a lengthy list, we offer potential customers ways that they can connect and engage effortlessly with any business they desire, anywhere within the UK.
  • How does the YBM App work?
    YBM APP offers a user friendly, mobile-optimised interface to retrieve details of Black-owned businesses and service providers using categories, keywords, or location. Businesses can create business profile pages which customers can search for, browse, and even directly purchase products from all within the app.
  • Who can use YBM App?
    Any shareholding business owner or director of African or Caribbean decent can list their businesses on the YBM App mobile platform. There is no restriction on customer race, religion, colour or any other demographics and we actively encourage and support equality and inclusion of all such users on our platform. We only seek to create opportunities for integration, skills, and knowledge sharing.
  • Why should I choose you to list my business?
    We at YBM App pride ourselves by our professional approach. We safeguard client data and guarantee our search results for your business because they are all controlled by us through the app and therefore are not subject to search engine advertising and algorithms. We are Black owners creating a product for Black business owners and offering a range of services to legitimately improve the visibility of your business and even help you manage your increased customer base due to our advertising strategies. By listing your business you are getting your name out there and helping your customers to reach you when they need you most.
  • How safe is using YBM App?
    YBM App Business Directory is a manually edited directory which means every single submission we receive is reviewed according to our entry criteria. This is especially important because it ensures the quality of our site is maintained for both visitors and advertisers and is one reason why we have been helping to promote ONLY legitimate UK businesses. In addition, our checks verify the business is in the hands of the actual owner of the business before they can build a profile on it.
  • Do I have to have a registered company to list my business/service?
    The short answer is no. As long as you are over the age of 18 and your business/ service is Black-Owned’ (as defined by our terms of service) and operates within the UK, then you are free to list on YBMAPP. If your business is a Private/Public Limited Company or is a registered Charity/CIC, you are required to state your Companies House registration number or Registered Charity number in the appropriate sections of your application when making your listing. This will allow for faster verification of your business details and get you live onto our platform quicker.
  • How do I create an account
    Download from the app store and sign up as one of the following: Business accounts are for business owners to sign up and manage their business profiles and their content to advertise/sell within the app. Customers also have a profile which is primarily to search for/purchase from businesses listed on the app or signpost new businesses not yet on the app.
  • What should I do if I forget my password?
    Select ‘Forgot Password’ at the login screen and you will be taken through verification to retrieve your account.
  • How can I delete my account?
    You can delete your account at any time and as per privacy laws. Please contact us directly via our App or send us an email. We hope that everyone listed will have a great experience and gain business as this is the primary aim of the directory but we accept that there will be occasions where people won't be happy with being listed or perhaps the business closes for some reason. All we ask is that you please make sure to discuss your concerns first before making the ultimate decision to leave. Your account will be removed immediately and your data will be removed from our servers within 30 days of confirmation you wish to cancel your account by email to cancellations@ybmapp.com
  • How can I search for businesses in the directory?
    Using the directory could not be simpler. Download the app and tap ‘Search’ icon at the bottom of the screen and then search by name, category, address or even businesses near you.
  • Can I filter search results? If so, how?
    Yes, all searches can be filtered by type of business, business category, distance from your present location and many other options.
  • How do I submit a business listing?
    As a customer you can suggest new businesses for addition to the app by clicking the button or emailing admin@ybmapp.com.
  • How do I create or claim my business listing?
    You can create a business listing by selecting ‘List my business’ button when opening the app. Ensure all information is accurate and consistent to avoid duplicates. To claim your listing, start by searching for your business name and address across the directory. If you find an existing listing, you can claim it via the claim business button located on the ‘About Us’ section of that business profile page. All businesses will go through a verification process which takes a maximum of 72 hours where the business details will be checked for legitimacy before being allowed to go live on the app.
  • What information is required to list a business?
    Adequate proof of ownership, age, heritage, and relevant insurance must be provided for verification processes. All businesses listed must have at least one owner/director of Black African/Caribbean heritage. Our App will guide you through the verification process of creating a Business Account and managing your profile.
  • I cannot find an appropriate category for my business/service when listing. What can I do?
    Our main categories are kept deliberately broad for ease of use for searches for our users. This in turn makes it easier for your business to be found. If you can find a main category that loosely fits your business when listing, please use this after which you will then have an opportunity to select additional keywords that more specifically describe your business, (e.g. a Solicitor) may list under the ‘Professional Services’ category but can return search results using any of the keywords (lawyer, solicitor, legal advisor) or any other terms listed in the description/category tabs created by the business owner in the description section. The list of subheadings is quite comprehensive and should have you covered. In the rare event that there is no main category or sub heading suitable, please email us at admin@ybmapp.com and let us know. We will rectify the matter as soon as possible.
  • How can I edit my business listing?
    You can update your Business Profile directly from the app by selecting ‘Edit my Listing.’ To start, sign in with the account used to verify your business. Tap your profile picture in the top left corner of the mobile app and select “Your Business Profile” to access these tools.
  • Is there a fee to list my business?
    For customers purchasing on the app, this service is subscription free. As we are a newly launching app, we are offering a substantial number of free trials for business owners on our platforms in order for you to see our value to your business before you are asked to part with any money. Once the free trial ends, the monthly subscription will be £30pm.
  • What do I get for my £30pm package as a business owner?
    · Business profile page (including company details, social media, additional links, and pdf/jpeg media) · In app search optimisation (so your customers can find you easily) · In app dashboard (offering user-based analytics monthly) · In app customer reviews & star ratings (so customers can see just how good you are) · YBMAPP Instagram post (featuring your business) · Appear above all free/unclaimed business profile pages. · In app chat feature (for both B2B & B2C) · Free in app purchase transaction fees and business invoicing · Discount code generator for your customers (in app)
  • My business does not have a storefront or website. Can I still have a Business Profile on YBMAPP?
    Yes, you can have a profile if your business does not have a physical address or website. You can also have a profile if you are a hybrid business that serves customers at your business address and visits or delivers directly to customers. You may also have a profile if you are a service-area business that visits or delivers to customers directly, but does not serve customers at its business address, like a plumber or cleaning service.
  • Should I create a Business Profile if I already have a website?
    Yes, your Business Profile page compliments your website by adding all its details and social media links giving your business more visibility to your current business website. In addition, if you sell your products and services through the app, YBMAPP will even pay your transaction charges with our current supplier Stripe.
  • How can I improve my listing's visibility?
    Incorporate relevant keywords in your business description while adhering to any character limits set by our directory. Regularly update your information and respond promptly to customer inquiries to enhance engagement and improve your business ratings.
  • How do I manage my subscription
    There is the option to pay monthly (via the app) at £30pm or annually costing £300pa saving you £60 per year.
  • Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
    You can cancel your subscription at any time and as per privacy laws, your data will be removed from our servers within 30 days of confirmation you wish to cancel your account by email to cancellations@ybmapp.com
  • What should I do if I encounter an error or expired business in the app?
    It is our responsibility to provide a safe and reliable app for your use. The only obligation YBMAPP places has upon its members is to embrace a shared responsibility to keep the directory relevant and reliable. Therefore, YBMAPP strongly encourages the reporting of expired business listings that are no longer in operation or other issues with errors in the app. This can be done via the ‘Contact Us’ button within the app or by email admin@ybmapp.com
  • How can I report a bug or issue?
    All bugs or issues can be reported by email at admin@ybmapp.com or directly within in the app via the ‘Contact Us’ button.
